George Clooney look-a-like looks nothing like him!
An Irish George Clooney look-a-like contest has been won, by a man who looks nothing like him!
David Glendon, 27, was picked from 782 other entries who had to post in a picture and his prize is a trip to the Oscars later in this month. Unfortunately, due to work commitments, he cannot attend.
'I was taken by surprise when I was told I'd won. 'There's been a lot of debate since about whether I look like him. But someone thought I did, so I'll take the good with the bad', said Mr Glendon.
The contest was organised in Kilkenny by local Gabriel Murray, who is filming a documentary about Clooney's roots there. He insisted: "It wasn't just about looks, there were a lot of other factors in consideration. We took into account the demeanour of the entrant."
The 27-year-old Kilkenny local scooped the prize, a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to attend the Oscars in Los Angeles in March.
But his physical likeness to the Clooney has been called into question by some on Mr Glendon's local newspaper website the Kilkenny People.
One commenter wrote: 'What criteria was used? Possibly just one? That he be male and have hair?'
Another, slightly cruelly, said: 'Who judged this? Stevie Wonder?'
